Things To Do With Kids
Looking for things to do with kids? We have some great ideas to entertain your little guests.
Paints are a great way to teach colours along with learning how they mix together to create more shades. Art materials help children explore their creativity and if done correctly…. create an awful mess.
Try to use watercolors, they come in lots of colours and kids can create without stains to clothes, furniture, or skin.
Wheels, Wheels – Anything with wheels
Now is a perfect time for your child to start working on their balance and coordination.. and preparing to learn how to fall down. Wheels are a great way to build coordination and confidence. They can practice for hours and hours on a ride on or balance bike… and will be zooming around in no time.
Two is a great age to introduce puzzles and the concept that smaller parts fit together to make a whole. Kids this age are starting to focus but can be easily distracted, so the really small puzzles with 2 to 5 pieces should make for success and a fun time. Try to find puzzles with bright colours and basic shapes.
Dress-up is an amazing way to develop your child’s imagination. Anna and Elsa seems to be the winning ones for girls right now, and anything Marvel for boys…Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Spider Man, and even though Batman is not Marvel…he still counts!
Dress-up gives kids an opportunity to run around acting like silly kids should.
Books are a great way to promote literacy and language development. Books should have a few words on each page and should be about familiar things — like animals, families, things that go, things you wear, food, shapes or colors. There are so many books to pick from that we could go on and on. Pick one you remember as a child and you enjoy as you may need to read it 1,000’s of times.
No matter what your child wants to do… or what you want to do make sure you do it together as these are such precious times.
Little Monkey Rentals if you need to rent baby equipment while in Victoria, Nanaimo, Parksville or Qualicum Beach British Columbia, you’ve come to the right place!
